Marissa Ray has been a student at the Academy of the Sacred Heart for 15 years and is glad to be a part of such a supportive community. She will graduate with high honors as Valedictorian of the class of 2013. As president of the National Honor Society, Marissa has taken part in various service projects inside and outside of school. She works with other National Honor Society members to organize fundraisers for a student in Uganda and proudly represents her school at Open Houses and other school events. As a part of the curriculum at Sacred Heart, Marissa volunteers every week at Wing Lake School for students with severe cognitive impairments.
Marissa loves taking part in sports and is captain of her field hockey, dance and lacrosse teams at Sacred Heart. She also takes piano and dance lessons outside of school, including cultural Indian dance.
Marissa is very appreciative of her supportive family: her mom Sheila, dad Alan, older brother Michael and older sister Monica have always been there for her and continually provide their love, knowledge, humor and support. In the fall, Marissa plans to attend the University of Notre Dame as a member of the Glynn Family Honors Program. She hopes to study science and ultimately attend medical school.
