Maria Cinquegrani will graduate as class valedictorian from Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights. She has been on the varsity swim team for four years and was captain her senior year. While on the swim team, she has received the Rookie of the Year Award, Titan Award, and Coach’s Award as well as being named All-Academic all four years. Maria has also been on student council for her three years at Stevenson and was vice president junior year and president senior year. She participated in Science Olympiad where she has competed at the regional, state, and national levels and earned several medals. She was an executive officer of the National Honor Society as well as a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. Maria has received the Macomb Scholars Program Scholarship and U.S. Achievement Academy Mathematics Awards. She was first chair baritone in the school’s Wind Ensemble. Maria works for Utica Community Schools as a lifeguard and swim instructor. She is very involved in her church and volunteers often.
In the fall, Maria will attend Loyola University Maryland on a Presidential Scholarship to study accounting and marketing. She hopes to use her business degree to start her own firm. Maria intends to remain involved in her community and establish roots with a family of her own.
