Kyle Kostenko will graduate from L'anse Creuse High School-North. First in rank for the Class of 2013, Kyle has participated in a number of activities over his high school career. He has been a member of the LCN Marching Band, where he has served as a clarinet section leader for his junior and senior years. Additionally, he has been a member of the school’s Wind Symphony since his sophomore year and has served as the concertmaster for three years. Since his sophomore year, Kyle has been awarded a First Division Rating at State Solo and Ensemble Festival as a soloist, and has been named to both the 2012 and 2013 Michigan Youth Arts Festival Honors Band through his scores at these festivals. This year, Kyle was selected through audition as the 2nd Chair in the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association All-State Band. He was principal clarinet for the District Sixteen MSBOA Honors Band this year. Kyle has also been a participant in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra Civic Youth Program for three years and performs regularly during church services at Faith United Methodist Church. In addition to his musical activities, he has been a member of National Honor Society and a student in the Math, Science, and Technology Center at Pankow.
Kyle plans to attend Bowling Green State University in the fall. He has been accepted to the school's College of Musical Arts and plans on majoring in music performance.
