Christine will graduate as valedictorian of her class from Walled Lake Northern High School. She has played the violin for seven years and has been a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Youth Symphony (DMYS) for five years. She won the DMYS Director's Award two years in a row and was named a Michigan Youth Arts Festival Distinguished Scholar at the 49th Michigan Youth Arts Festival in 2011. Christine has practiced martial arts for almost ten years and is currently a first degree black belt and lead instructor. She is the president of her high school's Spanish Club, a a two-time gold medalist in calculus and statistics in the KLAA Math and Science Olympiad for her high school's team, and a member of her high school's National Honor Society. She has been named a National Merit Scholar (note: not to be released publicly until after May 8th), an AP Scholar with Distinction, an a silver medalist on the National Spanish Exam. Christine plans to study either materials science and engineering or physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) starting in the fall 2013.
