Peter Romero will graduate at the top of his class from Harrison High School in Farmington Hills. Peter is a National Merit Scholar finalist and has been honored as a National Hispanic Recognition Scholar. As a junior, Peter was presented with Farmington Public School's Superintendent's Award of Excellence. He was a member of the National Honor Society, and he will graduate with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, joining only a handful of other students when he is inducted into Harrison High School's Academic Hall of Fame.
Peter greatly enjoyed his four years in the Harrison Marching Band. He was the Field Commander, Low Brass Section Leader, and a trombone soloist during his senior year. He was voted "Most Outstanding Brass" by his peers both his junior and senior years. His favorite memory of high school was competing with the marching band at the MCBA state finals at Ford Field. In addition to the marching band, Peter was involved in many other musical endeavors, including the All-District Honors Band, the Jazz Ensemble, and the Symphony Band. Peter was also a four-year varsity swimmer, and captain of the Harrison-Farmington Phoenix swim team his senior year. As a junior, Peter was designated as an All League swimmer in the OAA White Division, and was League Champion and a medalist at the MHSAA Division I state swim meet in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Peter holds varsity records in both the 200 Medley Relay and the 200 Freestyle Relay, and has been recognized by MISCA as Academic All State and by Speedo/NISCA as Academic All America. In addition to his efforts in the classroom, on the field, and in the pool, Peter was dedicated to community service throughout high school. Peter is an active Boy Scout, with the rank of Life. He is working on his Eagle Service Project and will become an Eagle Scout this summer. Peter plans to attend the University of Michigan and study Computer Science Engineering, and he hopes to be a member of the University of Michigan Marching Band. Go Blue!
